Insomnia Questionnaire for Adults

A lot of adults have problems to fall asleep and sleep through the night. Next to objective methods e.g. actigraphy or polysomnography, sleeping diaries and questionnaires are one of the most important information source. The insomnia questionnaire for adults (IQ-A) was developed to capture problems to fall asleep and to sleep through the night subjective. It consists of 11 items with dichotomous answer form (yes/no) and is based on the DSM-5 insomnia criteria. Thus, the IQ-A consists not only the quality of the sleeping problem (problems to fall asleep, to sleep through the night, to wake up very early in the morning) but also the subjective impairment, frequency, duration, diurnal impairment and possible alternative explanaitions (bad sleeping hygiene, substance use, medication). An evaluation on the psychometric quality criteria (validity, objetctivity, reliability) was not done yet.
